Welcome aboard! ;D

Truth be told, there was no way that a modern game was going to have all the content that Battlefront 2 had in it, it was made at a time that you didn't need a team of 200 people to create a AAA game.
I thought the same watching the trailers - that it just looked like a re-skinned Battlefield - but having played it, it feels like a totally different game to BF3 & 4...closer to BC2 it truth, which for me is a good thing.
Best thing to do is try it, if you still don't like it then fair enough, but don't just judge it on trailers and launch for the DLC, I seem to remember a lot of people forking out 40 for BF Premium ;)

I am also playing Witcher 3 (awesome game but very slow going because its soooo big!) and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (a good hack'n'slash game I missed out on when it first came out).

Battlefront is 33% off until Saturday and its simpler approach makes a nice change to the latest Battlefield games.
Also Jade Empire is currently free on Origin and is well worth getting if you like Bioware games (Kotor, Dragon Age, Mass Effect).

WB just announced that since there are still issues with the game, they will honour any refund requests until the end of the year - no matter how much you've played.
So if you fancy getting your money back once you've finished it, you can ;)

Finally finished it on the Xbox a couple of weeks ago (traded it for the Witcher 3 on pc now).

I think the most fun I had playing it was when I was going round finishing the most wanted missions near the end.  Driving round the city freely, taking out checkpoints and watchtowers, solving murders and finding Riddler trophies was good use of the Batmobile.  Forced combat, chases and boss fights - especially the bloody excavator battle! - made the Batmobile a chore rather than fun.

Basically, I think the weaker main story, military filler missions and the overused Batmobile added too many frustrations for me.  City and Origins were better...

Haven't played this myself, but I did watch Surfy on her playthrough, and it looked pretty good to me.
It was meant to be a demonstration of the graphics the Xbox One is capable of and it does a very good job of that.  A great-looking cinematic experience with solid hack'n'slash style gameplay.

If you go into it expecting that, and not something revolutionary, then you should enjoy it ;)

I played another couple of rounds last night and I have to say I like it.  Yes, it's less realistic than the BF games (the health recharges fast and as Mirk said, the ammo and nades never run out but are available again after a cooldown) but it makes it more of a pick up and play game.  The fact that there's no suppression or screen shake when you get hit makes it much more fun for people like me (ie noobs!) :D

Add to the fact that it's the most authentically Star Wars game I've played in terms of sound and graphics, and it's the closest to my favourite 2142 that I'm likely to see, I think I could have some fun with this :)

Welcome aboard - I was a C64 gamer back in the day, finally got around to selling it last year.  Emulators are always available to scratch a retro bug ;)

Oooh, nice find Nymph!  Must say I enjoyed Bioshock Infinite, got a bit combat-heavy at times, but the story really got going later on.
I've still got the DLC story to play at some point but I'm still progressing with Arkham Knight atm :D

Heard fairly positive things about this, although reports say it's causing corrupted textures throughout the game for a few not perfect yet lol

Tbh since this is the interim patch and there's still more stuff to fix (as well as what this patch broke lol) I can't see the full patch being out before October/November - and no DLC will be out until the final patch is complete ::)

..then they might put the game on sale again - and no one will care.  I just feel sorry for the PC owners who bought the season pass as it's been a complete waste of time :(

Still no sign of the patch I'll be interesting to see how WB are planning to make up for the lack of DLC content for those that bought the season pass on pc...

And the longer this goes on for, the harder it will be to convince the people who got a refund to re-purchase the game when it is finally (re)released.

i hope it gets fixed soon cos once ive completed a game i tend to lose interest after awhile and want to move onto the next game  ::)

I know what you mean, although most of the content seems to be stand-alone story missions and challenge maps which you can kind of pick up and play @ any time...

Technical / Re: windows 10 yes or no 2 upgrade?

Maybe the gains are more noticeable when going from 7 to 10 (I refused to touch Windows 8 lol), as Surfy said my pc boot was never slow thanks to the SSD, but now it's just silly!

As for the changes, I've never known a Windows update to bring any "must have" features, it's just something you do to stay compatible with the newest stuff, because it's cheap/free, or to get rid of the crap one (Vista!) ;)
